ExplainThisDoc - PDF & Archive vs ToolifyNav: Which Is Better in 2026?

You shouldn’t need a perfect filing system to find a single letter.
ExplainThisDoc helps you get your paperwork under control without making organization another chore. Bring paper letters, PDFs and photos into one free archive on your iPhone or iPad. No folder structure to plan. No sorting routine to keep up with. Add your documents, then find them when you need them.
Think of the moments that usually send you searching: checking an insurance payment, finding a receipt or looking up your rental agreement. With everything together, you can search your archive and open the original. Optional iCloud sync keeps your documents available across your iPhone and iPad.
Find it. Understand it. Get on with your day.
Finding the right document brings relief. Understanding it helps you move forward. Free local analysis with Apple Intelligence on supported devices gives you a short summary and important details, so you can get your bearings quickly. You can also check and correct the recognized text if a scan needs attention.
For something more complicated, optional Pro explanations help make sense of the wording, conditions and possible next steps. An insurance letter becomes easier to follow: what is being paid, what is being held back and what you may need to provide. Keep the original close at hand while you work through the explanation.
Mark the passage that matters or leave yourself a comment, so you don’t have to work it all out again next time. When a document needs your signature, add it without printing. Small jobs become easier to finish.
Your archive is free. Only Pro explanations cost credits. Everyday document tools and supported local analysis are free. Each Pro analysis uses one credit. No subscription. Your first installation includes three complimentary test credits to try Pro.
Your archive lives on your device. For Pro explanations, recognized document text passes through our server to your chosen AI provider.
Start with the next letter. Your archive can grow one document at a time - without a growing filing chore.
Less sorting and searching. More finding, understanding and getting things done.

What problem it solves

People managing their own or their family’s paperwork who want things under control without spending their evenings sorting documents.
Letters pile up, PDFs disappear into inboxes, and important information is hard to find when it’s needed. Even finding the right document doesn’t always make its meaning clear. The result is wasted time, postponed tasks and the nagging feeling that something important has been overlooked.
ExplainThisDoc helps them find and understand their paperwork without maintaining a filing system.
