Novastart vs Rize: Which Is Better in 2026?

Novastart is the Infinite Canvas OS. It brings Chrome, ChatGPT, Claude, Word, Excel, and your files onto one infinite whiteboard, so everything you work with lives side by side instead of buried in tabs and windows. Teams can open shared canvases and collaborate in real time, arranging apps, documents and notes spatially the way they think. Novastart also gives AI agents their own cursors and keyboards, so agents can work directly alongside people on the same canvas: browsing, writing, editing spreadsheets and organizing files while you watch, guide and collaborate. It is built for founders, knowledge workers, developers and teams who juggle many tools at once and want a single visual workspace where humans and AI work together. Novastart is based in San Francisco and offers a freemium plan.

What problem it solves

Modern work is scattered across dozens of apps, tabs and windows, and AI assistants live in separate chat boxes. Novastart puts all apps, files and AI agents on one shared infinite canvas.

Rize is an AI-powered time tracking and productivity tool that automatically logs how you spend your time on your computer and provides insights to help you focus better and build healthier work habits. Unlike manual time trackers that require you to start and stop timers, Rize works in the background, categorizing your activity automatically and giving you a clear picture of where your time actually goes — which is often surprising and genuinely useful for anyone trying to improve their productivity.

The tool tracks your activity and uses AI to categorize it into meaningful buckets — focused work, meetings, communication, breaks and so on — then presents reports and metrics that reveal your patterns: how much deep focus time you get, how often you're distracted or context-switching, and how your habits change over time. Beyond just tracking, Rize offers nudges and features to help you improve, like reminders to take breaks, encouragement to protect focus time, and insights that help you understand and optimize your work patterns. This focus on actionable insight, not just data, is central to its value.

Rize appeals to knowledge workers, freelancers, developers and anyone who wants to understand and improve how they spend their time and focus. By automating the tracking and surfacing meaningful insights, it removes the friction that causes most people to abandon time tracking, while giving them the awareness needed to make real changes. Its emphasis on focus and healthy habits — not just raw hours — reflects a thoughtful approach to productivity. As more people seek to work deliberately, protect their attention and avoid burnout, tools that provide automatic, insightful time tracking are increasingly valuable. For anyone who wants to understand where their time goes, build better focus habits and work more intentionally, Rize offers an automatic, insightful and genuinely helpful solution.
