KalaSudha

KalaSudha is a family-run, self-funded UK social enterprise for Indian classical music and dance. Rajeev Kumar and Shabd Pyari founded it in 2023 in Newham, London. Its work brings together concert presentation, music education and artist recordings, with a share of every paid activity going to its artists development fund.

For audiences, KalaSudha presents concerts and workshops. Its London Ragas series follows the baithak format, in which musicians and listeners sit close and give the music time to unfold. Visitors can browse forthcoming and past events on the website, read the programme and artist details, and book tickets for upcoming concerts.

KalaSudha Academy offers live online learning with instructors in Indian classical music and dance. Learners can book one-to-one sessions at their own pace or join a structured group course on a timetable. Courses contain topics, modules and levels, with Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced stages. Lesson recordings, practice material and instructor feedback help learners continue their work between sessions. The Academy translates course material into 22 languages besides English.

For listeners who want to explore beyond a concert, KalaSudha releases albums and tracks recorded in the studio and on its stages. Its video library includes filmed performances. Artist profiles, raga pages and instrument guides provide background for people learning about the music, choosing what to hear or following an artist's work.

Schools can contact KalaSudha about workshops and concerts. Festival and venue presenters can request programme curation, artist management or help running a stage. Enquiries describe the location, dates, audience and scope. A proposal and quote follow email confirmation and discussion; sending an enquiry does not make a booking.

KalaSudha's artists development fund supports concerts, recordings and promotion of the art forms. The organisation connects paid musical activities with that continuing work. Visit the website for current events, learning options, recordings and enquiries, or contact contact@kalasudha.com.
