About Anonymize my ID
Anonymize my ID is a mobile app for iOS and Android that turns a photo of your ID card or passport into a safe, watermarked, redacted copy you can share with the hosts, landlords, buyers and clients who ask for one - without handing over your real identity.
Everything happens 100% on-device. Your photo never leaves the phone: there is no upload, no account and nothing to sign up for. The app works fully offline with IDs and passports from Spanish and English-speaking countries.
Sharing a copy of your ID is a routine request - booking an apartment, checking into a stay, verifying a buyer or a client - but a full copy of your document exposes your full name, document number, date of birth, address and signature to anyone who receives it, forever. Anonymize my ID exists so you can comply with the request and still protect the data that matters.
The flow takes three taps. First, snap or pick: photograph your document with the built-in camera or choose an existing photo. Second, hide what matters: drag boxes over the sensitive fields. The free version hides everything and exports in black and white with a watermark; Pro lets you choose between blur, pixelate, partial or colour redaction for each field. Third, share safely: export the watermarked copy and send it anywhere, while your real details stay private on your phone.
The watermark makes the copy useless for identity theft, because it clearly marks what the copy is for and prevents it being reused as a genuine document. On-device processing means there is no server that could be breached and no copy of your document stored anywhere else.
Pricing is simple: the app is free to try on iOS and Android, and Pro is a one-time purchase of about 7 euros - no subscription, ever. Anonymize my ID is built by Nexo Apex SL, a software company based in El Vendrell, Spain, focused on privacy-first utilities.
What problem it solves
Hosts, landlords, buyers and clients routinely ask for a copy of your ID or passport, but a full copy exposes your name, document number, date of birth, address and signature to anyone who receives it - and it can be reused for identity theft. Anonymize my ID lets you comply with the request with a watermarked, redacted copy instead, so only the minimum necessary information is shared.
