ShortTranscript turns eligible public TikTok videos and Instagram Reels or video posts into timestamped, editable transcripts. It is for creators, marketers, researchers, and small teams who need to review spoken content, capture quotes, or work with a text version of a short social video.

Paste a public link, start transcription, and review the returned text in the browser. The transcript is organized with timestamps so you can move through the result alongside the video and correct words before using them. The free tier does not require an account and includes up to three successful transcripts per UTC day for videos up to five minutes. Free results can be copied or downloaded as TXT.

For longer videos and document or caption-file formats, ShortTranscript uses one-time credit packs: $4.99 for 150 credits or $19.99 for 800 credits. One credit is used for each started minute of audio, and a paid job can be up to 60 minutes. Credits unlock SRT, VTT, and DOCX exports. The packs are one-time purchases rather than recurring subscriptions.

Typical uses include checking the wording of a creator's own video, collecting a quote from a public clip, preparing a time-aligned draft for editing, and keeping a readable record of spoken material. ShortTranscript focuses on transcription: it does not translate speech into another language. Review machine-generated text before publishing or relying on it, since names, accents, overlapping voices, music, and noisy audio can affect recognition.

Supported inputs are public TikTok videos and Instagram Reels or video posts. Private links, expired links, unsupported URLs, and Instagram Stories are outside the supported scope. The service returns text and timestamps; it is not a video downloader. Creators can begin with the no-sign-up daily allowance, then use credits when a longer transcript or a downloadable SRT, VTT, or DOCX file is needed. This gives a short-form video workflow a text draft to skim, quote, edit, or keep with project notes.
