Sizemaven

Sizemaven tells you which size to buy, then shows real products in that size. A size chart usually stops at the size, and a store usually shows only its own catalog, sized with its own chart. Sizemaven joins the two steps.

How it works. Pick what you are buying and enter a few numbers: the room and the bed for a rug, your weight, height and boot size for a snowboard, a player's age and position for a baseball glove, or your dog's chest for a harness. Every field says where the tape goes, and most tools need two or three numbers. The tool gives one size and the reason for it, names the chart the answer comes from, and draws many answers to scale. When you fall between two sizes, it says when the other size is the better pick. When the numbers cannot produce a sensible answer, such as a room too small for the bed, it says so instead of guessing.

Where the rules come from. Each tool follows rules that someone accountable has published: makers such as Wilson, Osprey, Jones Snowboards and PING, specialist retailers such as REI and evo, and standards and professional bodies. Across the 18 tools the site cites 99 pages from 78 websites, and every tool page lists its sources with links.

What you get. One size answer, the rule and source behind it, and a shortlist of products on Amazon whose listings confirm that size, within your budget. Each product model appears once, and prices are checked at least every 24 hours. You can email yourself a link to your result.

What it covers. Home (rugs, beds, curtains), sports (snowboards, skis, golf clubs, wetsuits), outdoors (backpack torso fit, sleeping bags, kayak paddles), kids (kids' shoes, youth baseball gloves), pets (dog crates, dog harnesses) and style (rings, shoe size, belts, gloves). Twenty-two size guides answer common questions, such as queen bed dimensions, standard curtain lengths or women's to men's shoe sizes, and a printable ring sizer checks its own print scale with a 100 mm line.

Pricing. Free, with no account. Sizemaven earns a small commission from Amazon when a visitor buys through its links. No brand pays to be listed, and the site shows no ads.
