Pray Shield

Pray Shield is an iPhone app for Christians who want to bring prayer into the moments when they reach for their phone. It uses Apple's Screen Time system to place a short pause before selected distracting apps. Instead of opening a feed immediately, you meet a verse and a prayer, then decide whether to continue or put the phone down.

The idea is practical: a reminder is most useful when it appears at the point of a habit. You choose the apps, categories or websites you want to manage and enable the shield. The pause gives you a small opportunity to notice what you are doing and reconnect with the reason you picked up your phone. It is not a competition over who can pray the most or a promise that an app will transform your life.

Pray Shield also brings several faith tools into one place. Bible reading and search support time in Scripture, including offline reading through Plus. Guided prayers, reflection and a Rule of Life help you shape a daily rhythm around your own circumstances. You might use the app before social media, during a quiet morning or when you want to make a little space for reflection at the end of the day.

Eden offers nature sounds and a small lamb to care for, adding a gentle place to return to within the app. Widgets can keep a daily verse nearby. These features are designed to support a routine you choose, with room for ordinary, imperfect days.

Screen Time management is available free of charge. Bible reading, prayer tools and Eden require a Pray Shield Plus subscription. The app is free to download; any trial depends on eligibility, and Apple displays current prices and renewal terms before purchase.

Personal prayer requests remain on the device. Prayer text and selected apps are not added to product analytics. Pray Shield is made by independent developer Damian Witkowski and is currently available for iPhone and iOS.

What problem it solves

It adds a moment for Scripture and prayer where automatic scrolling starts, and brings Bible reading and reflection into the same daily routine.
