I built StorageDaddy after my Mac kept running out of disk. One scan found more than 300 GB of storage I could safely reclaim, and the tool gave me that space back.

StorageDaddy is a free, open-source storage analyzer for macOS, built for developers. It scans your machine for the bulky folders that quietly eat disk: node_modules across old projects, Xcode DerivedData, build caches, package manager caches, and local AI session folders from tools like Claude Code and other agents. The scan runs entirely on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, there are no accounts, and there is no telemetry.

The important part is what happens after the scan. StorageDaddy does not delete anything on its own. Every cleanup candidate is presented for review first, so you can see exactly what will move to Trash before you confirm. Nothing moves until you say so. That review step is what makes it safe to clean aggressively: regenerable folders like node_modules can be removed without fear, because anything a project still needs can be rebuilt with a single install command.

StorageDaddy runs natively on Apple silicon and requires macOS 14 or later. It is free during early access, and the full source code is available on GitHub under the MIT license.
